God's Coffee

Image
God's Coffee A group of alumni, highly established in their careers, got together to visit their old university professor. Conversation soon turned into complaints about stress in work and life. Offering his guests coffee, the professor went to the kitchen and returned with a large pot of coffee and an assortment of cups - porcelain, plastic, glass, crystal, some plain looking, some expensive, some exquisite - telling them to help themselves to the coffee. When all the students had a cup of coffee in hand, the professor said: "If you noticed, all the nice looking expensive cups were taken up, leaving behind the plain and cheap ones. While it is normal for you to want only the best for yourselves, that is the source of your problems and stress. Be assured that the cup itself adds no quality to the coffee. In most cases it is just more expensive and in some cases even hides what we drink. What all of you really wanted was coffee, not the cup, but you consciously went for the...

How to reduce petrol and gas price..Egg logic A man eats two eggs each morning for breakfast. When he goes to the grocery store he pays 60 cents a dozen. Since a dozen eggs won't last a week he normally buys two dozen at a time. One day while buying eggs he notices that the price has risen to 72 cents. The next time he buys groceries, eggs are 76 cents a dozen. When asked to explain the price of eggs the store owner says, "The price has gone up and I have to raise my price accordingly". This store buys 100 dozen eggs a day. He checked around for a better price and all the distributors have raised their prices. The distributors have begun to buy from the huge egg farms. The small egg farms have been driven out of business. The huge egg farms sell 100,000 dozen eggs a day to distributors. With no competition, they can set the price as they see fit. The distributors then have to raise their prices to t he grocery stores. And on and on and on. As the man kept buying egg...

Traumatic Break-Up

Traumatic Break-Up “Love begins with a smile, grows with a kiss, and ends with a teardrop.”But are tears enough to chase away the pain of a break up?Most of us have been there. Some of us are there. And for sure, many of us will be there in the future. When the person you are in love with suddenly leaves you, you may think that your whole identity is shattered, and that you will never recover from the pain - but keep in mind, the sun will rise again, sooner or later. The emotional, spiritual and physical connection established in a relationship can be a beautiful experience for both individuals. From the first look until our relationship ends, we establish a connection with the person we love on some many levels. Finding that one person, our soul mate, to share our lives with is often a difficult task to achieve. As a result, and unfortunately, it is a reality that many hearts are broken before we are blessed with the one special person we trust and love for the remainder of our lives....

A lovely lesson for life

A lovely lesson for life A student asks a teacher: What is love? The teacher said: in order to answer your question, go to the paddy field and choose the biggest paddy and come back. But the rule is: you can go through them only once and cannot turn back to pick. The student went to the field, got thru first row...... he saw one big paddy, but he wonders....may be there is a bigger one later. Then he saw another bigger one... but may be there is an even bigger one waiting for him. Later, when he finished more than half of the paddy field, he realized that the paddy is not as big as the previous ones he saw, he knows he has missed the biggest one, and he regretted. So, he ended up going back to the teacher with empty hand. The teacher told him, this is love... you keep looking for a better one, but later you realize, you have already missed the person The student asked: What is marriage then? The teacher said: In order to answer your question, go to the corn field and choose the big...

Mind Set

Mind Set As I was passing the elephants, I suddenly stopped, confused by the fact that these huge creatures were being held by only a small rope tied to their front leg. No chains, no cages. It was obvious that the elephants could, at anytime, break away from the ropes they were tied to but for some reason, they did not. I saw a trainer near by and asked why these beautiful, magnificent animals just stood there and made no attempt to get away." Well," he said, "when they are very young and much smaller we use the same size rope to tie them and, at that age, it's enough to hold them. As they grow up, they are conditioned to believe they cannot break away. They believe the rope can still hold them, so they never try to break free." I was amazed. These animals could at any time break free from their bonds but because they believed they couldn't, they were stuck right where they were. Like the elephants, how many of us go through life hanging onto a belief that...

one drop at a time

Save the world, one drop at a time "INDIA and China at war - over water." Imagine this headline, loud and clear, in your favourite morning paper. Sounds far-fetched? Ecological experts say in the next 50 years, countries may be reduced to war over the natural resource key to human survival. The danger is nearer than we all think. That mandatory glass of cool water after a hot, sveltering day might be harder to come by. Only 1 percent of total water on our planet is available for drinking. The world human population has tripled in the last century, and the consumption of fresh water has increased sevenfold. The amount of water available for each human has fallen by 40% over the period of four decades. Two out of five inhabitants of the planet experience difficulty in obtaining water. Around 200 million Indians do not have access to safe and clean water. United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP) predicts that India will be severly stressed for water by 2025. World Wildlife Fu...
